23 stycznia 2015 roku odbyła się w Moskwie ceremonia wręczenia nagród filmowych „Złoty Orzeł”.
Nagrodę dla najlepszego filmu otrzymał „Udar słoneczny” w reżyserii Nikity Michałkowa. Konkurował z nim w wielu kategoriach kandydujący do Oskara film Andrieja Zwiagincewa „Lewiatan”. Andriej Zwiagincew został uznany za najlepszego reżysera.
Nagrody w innych kategoriach otrzymali:
- najlepsza rola żeńska – Elena Lyadova („Lewiatan”),
- najlepsza rola męska – Aleksander Zbrujew („Kino dla Aleksiejewa”),
- najlepsza muzyka – kompozytor Eduard Artiemjew za muzykę do filmu „Udar słoneczny”,
- najlepszy scenariusz – Andriej Konczałowskij („Białe noce listonosza Aleksieja Triapicyna”),
- najlepsze seriale telewizyjne – „Biesy” (reż. Władimir Chotinienko), „Odwilż” (reż. Walerij Todorowskij),
- najlepszy film animowany – „Iwan Carewicz i Szary Wilk – 2”.
